Motormoon - Our Motorbike Honeymoon

At the end of October I'm going to be away for about a month. Jeremy and I are going on our honeymoon. We are going motorbiking to Alice Springs and then back home via New South Wales and the high country of Victoria. I've never really been on a motorbike before, well, I went on a three day bike ride in Vietnam about 10 years ago, but I think this will be different. Jeremy will be driving, I'll be on the back and I'm rather scared, but also excited. Today we bought some of the gear I'm going to need including a very pretty helmet!

Jeremy and I intend to keep a blog about our trip. You can find out what we're up to at www.motormoon.blogspot.com. We've already started writing since the build up to leaving is just as much part of the trip as the actual driving part. I'll be showing photos, writing about what we see and showing any drawings I manage to do on the way. Jeremy may talk a bit more about technical stuff, about the bike and gear etc. I hope it will prove interesting. So if I'm not writing on here for a while, you can find me motormooning!

When we get back home at the end we will be returning to the little house we found. It is out in the bush near Daylesford (about an hour north of Melbourne) and is gorgeous! Surrounded by wildlife and lots of bush track to explore. I think it'll be a bit basic but I'm really looking forward to living there and the studio is big and warm and I can't wait to get printmaking again in such inspiring surroundings!

I subscribed to you ages and ages ago and have done a truly terrible job of keeping up. But your wedding photos are beautiful, and it looks like you worked so hard for the day! Congratulations! I hope your honeymoon is splendid.

ALSO: I have always, always wanted to go to Australia (for about twenty years, anyway), and your pictures are making it so much worse. :) Enjoy!

Wow, that will be an interesting honeymoon! You'll be the prettiest new bride on the road with that gorgeous helmet. I love the simplicity of your house and it's setting. Have a wonderful time holding on to your man on your bike!

Thank you Laura, Marie and Carole!
Marie, you'll have to make it over one day. It is a great country, I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.
