First Drawing At Our New Place

Even though I didn't have any materials with me on this visit I found a pencil and doodled a bit of the bush around me. I decided it needed a bit of colour so I squished up some gum leaves, wattle flower and tried a bit of bark for rubbing on colour.

just wait till you make a little concertina and pop the leaves between the pages hold toigther with a couple of fold over clamps and pop the whole lot in a pot of water, bring the boil and simmer for an hour. Magic happens.

I love how you used the materials from the environment within the sketch. I have to try that!

Once painted with blackcurrant juice as I'd forgotten water.lots of insects attracted by the sugar content! This is such an interesting post.

Soewnearth, that sounds fascinating, I'll have to experiment!

I remember trying drawing with plants before and found stinging nettles gave the best green, but you had to watch your hands.

I like your story Bridget, I once coloured in with chocolate because I needed some shading during a life drawing class!
